“It was an incredibly poignant night, incredibly sad,” Cllr Howard shared, her voice filled with emotion. “Everybody felt that they would love to take away some of the pain from the family. This is their worst nightmare; you could never expect something like this would come to a country townland like this. It realy is heartbreaking, and everyone’s heart is broken.Everybody is feeling the pain.Everybody is absolutely gutted.”

Police Appeal for Information

Det Chief Insp Neil McGuinness urged anyone who may have seen a silver Mercedes saloon car in the Clones Road area of Newtownbutler, or travelling between Maguiresbridge and Newtownbutler, on Tuesday evening to come forward.
“our investigation is ongoing, and we are working tirelessly to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy,” Det Chief Insp McGuinness stated.
the PSNI confirmed over the weekend that a man who remains in a serious condition in hospital following the incident was a member of the same household as the victims.
