Chris Dobey claimed his first Premier League night victory of 2025, defeating Stephen Bunting 6-2 in a surprising final in rotterdam. The Northumberland native’s triumph shakes up the Premier League standings,bringing him closer to a playoff position.

The final,an all-English affair,pitted ‌the bottom two players against each other. Dobey, who​ had previously suffered a 6-1 defeat to Luke Humphries on opening night, advanced to ⁢the final after a 6-2 victory over⁤ Nathan Aspinall in the semi-finals. The 34-year-old Dobey surged to a 5-1 lead against Bunting, securing the win with an remarkable⁤ 101.84 average. This marks his second career Premier League nightly win.

Dobey’s recent performance has significantly⁣ improved his position in the league table. Currently sixth, he is now ‌only three points away from the playoff spots. The competition remains tight, with just five ⁢points separating Aspinall in third place and Rob Cross in seventh.
