President Lai Visits Tainan Disaster Area, Assures Swift Recovery

TAINAN, Taiwan — President Lai Ching-te arrived in Tainan’s disaster area on Monday, January 25, to assess the damage and offer aid to victims following a magnitude 6.0 earthquake. The quake struck at 1:01 AM, injuring 20 people and causing significant damage, particularly in Yujing District and Nanzi District.

The president began his day touring the affected areas, visiting the Cultural Center in Yujing District and the Jiangjia District of Nanzi District.
