She said, “His presence makes me smile and inspires me to feel better after the damage caused by Pepito.” Calla’s home suffered severe damage when the storm ripped off its roof. She asked the President for help to repair her house.

During his visit, the President conducted an aerial inspection of the most affected municipalities. He presented a PHP50 million check to Governor Cua for recovery efforts. He also oversaw the distribution of 1,000 family food packs and PHP5,000 cash aid to 500 families, facilitated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Cabinet secretaries from various departments accompanied the President, showing a united front in assisting Catanduanes.
