President Prabowo Leads Strategic Cabinet Meeting at Hambalang

President Prabowo Subianto has convened a series of limited coordination meetings (ratas) at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, involving key cabinet members and top security officials to synchronize the implementation of strategic government programs.

The meetings, which included the Minister of Defense, the National Police Chief, and the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), focused on a broad spectrum of national priorities ranging from internal social stability to international defense, and education.

Focus on National Security and Defense

A central component of the discussions in Hambalang involved the integration of defense and intelligence operations. President Prabowo coordinated with the National Police Chief and the Head of BIN to ensure that domestic security remains stable while the administration pursues its strategic goals.

The President emphasized the necessity of a unified approach between the military and police forces to safeguard the state. These discussions were part of a broader effort to evaluate the readiness of the security apparatus in facing both domestic challenges and regional geopolitical shifts.

Education and Human Resource Development

The administration is prioritizing the role of higher education institutions in driving national development. During the limited meetings, President Prabowo specifically addressed the role of universities in supporting government initiatives and the need for academic institutions to align their research and outputs with the practical needs of the state.

Further expanding this focus, the President has worked to strengthen educational cooperation between Indonesia and the United Kingdom. This initiative is intended to elevate the quality of Indonesian human resources through international partnerships and academic exchanges.

Labor and Social Stability

Social and economic stability were also high on the agenda, with specific discussions regarding the welfare and role of laborers. The President reviewed the current state of labor relations and the government’s strategy to maintain industrial harmony to ensure that economic growth is supported by a stable workforce.

By addressing labor concerns alongside security and education, the President aimed to create a comprehensive framework for national stability that balances economic productivity with social protections.

Strategic Program Monitoring

The Hambalang meetings served as a mechanism for the President to personally check the progress of the Red and White Cabinet’s strategic programs. This direct oversight allows the President to identify bottlenecks in implementation and provide immediate direction to the relevant ministers.

The coordination efforts were managed with the assistance of the Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, who helped organize the various sessions covering current issues and the execution of the administration’s core mandates.

These meetings underscore the President’s preference for using his Hambalang residence as a hub for high-level strategic planning, allowing for more focused and intensive deliberations away from the daily operational pressures of the capital in Jakarta.
