Hofstra Men’s Basketball Wins Against Massachusetts

On Saturday evening, the Hofstra men’s basketball team achieved a 75-71 victory against Massachusetts at the Mullins Center. Jean Aranguren led the team with 20 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. Cruz Davis also had a standout performance, scoring a career-high 21 points along with six rebounds and four assists.

Hofstra improved to 4-0 for the second time in three seasons, matching their start from the 2022-23 season.

The game saw Hofstra establish a 13-point lead in the first half, with KiJan Robinson’s three-pointer making the score 28-15. The team went into halftime with a five-point lead. Early in the second half, Aranguren’s four-point play pushed Hofstra’s lead to 42-34.

Massachusetts bounced back, tying the game at 54 with a 9-0 run. In the closing moments, the game went into overtime. Aranguren scored the first six points of overtime, putting Hofstra ahead 69-63.
