Newly released photos from the U.S. Department of Justice’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein have sparked renewed scrutiny of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew. The images, released on January 30, 2026, appear to show the former royal on all fours over an unidentified woman lying on the floor.

The photographs, first reported by USA Today, show Mountbatten-Windsor leaning over and touching the waist of a fully clothed woman. A second photograph depicts him on his hands and knees, crouching over the woman, whose face has been redacted.

According to reporting from CNN, investigators have determined the photos were taken inside Epstein’s New York City mansion. Sky News’ data and forensic team confirmed the location by analyzing distinctive white wall panelling, cross-referencing it with another photograph showing Epstein with Hollywood director Woody Allen. The design of a door in the images also matched other photographs of the property.

The release of the photos has prompted calls for Mountbatten-Windsor to testify before U.S. Lawmakers regarding his relationship with Epstein. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has urged him to comply with any such requests, stating, “Epstein’s victims have to be the first priority,” according to CNN.

The images are part of a larger release of over three million pages of documents related to the Epstein investigation. Emails within those documents suggest contact between Mountbatten-Windsor and Epstein continued for more than two years after Epstein was found guilty of sex crimes in 2008. The Guardian reports that emails labeled “The Duke” and “The Invisible Man,” along with emails from “Sarah” and references to “Fergie,” suggest communication from Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, with Epstein following his release from house arrest in August 2010.

One email exchange from August 2010 shows Epstein inviting Mountbatten-Windsor to meet a “friend” for dinner in London. Mountbatten-Windsor replied he would be “delighted to see her,” and requested Epstein provide her contact details. Epstein described the woman as a 26-year-old Russian who was “clevere (sic) beautiful, trustworthy.”

Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his royal titles in October 2025, according to USA Today. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. In a statement released on October 17, 2025, he reiterated that he vigorously denied any accusations against him.

The latest release of Epstein files also includes a photograph of Mountbatten-Windsor lying on the laps of several seated women at Sandringham, as reported by BBC News.

The U.S. Department of Justice did not provide additional information regarding the timing or location of the photographs showing Mountbatten-Windsor on all fours, but acknowledged that redactions were included in the released files, as stated by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche during a press conference in Washington, D.C.
