Prince William and Princess Kate have released a new video and photograph to celebrate their youngest son Prince Louis’ eighth birthday, marking the occasion with a seaside family holiday in Cornwall.

The footage, filmed by royal photographer Matt Porteous earlier this month, shows Prince Louis playing on a beach in a wetsuit, jumping into the water, digging in the sand with a spade, playing cricket and running along the shoreline. The video was shared online alongside the message: “Thank you for all the birthday wishes for Prince Louis. 8 is great!”

A new photograph taken by Porteous on the same day captures Prince Louis aboard a boat during the family holiday, smiling while wearing a blue zip-up jumper with his arms crossed. The image was posted on royal social media accounts with the caption: “Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today!” accompanied by a red balloon emoji.
