Chancellor’s Roast Pork Closes Tsuen Wan Store Amidst Declining Business

Chancellor’s Roast Pork, a popular chain restaurant known for its affordable roasted meats, has announced the closure of its Tsuen Wan store on September 15. This decision comes as the Hong Kong catering industry continues to struggle with declining business, largely due to the increasing trend of Hong Kong residents traveling north for consumption.

Despite efforts to attract customers with promotions such as the “Counterattack Shenzhen” discount, which offered all-you-can-drink-and-eat deals starting at NT$88, the store was unable to reverse its fortunes. The promotion, which was launched in recent months, included a 2-hour all-you-can-eat and drink package featuring roasted meat, hot pot, sushi, dim sum, and desserts.

Chancellor’s Roast Pork currently operates four branches in Tsuen Wan, Yuen Long, Kwun Tong, and Tai Po. While the Tsuen Wan store will close on September 15 due to the expiration of its lease, the remaining three branches will continue to operate as usual.

However, the news of the closure has been met with little nostalgia from netizens, who have criticized the store’s poor service, lack of air conditioning, and subpar food quality. Many have expressed disappointment with the store’s overall experience, with some even describing it as an “inferior food choice.”
