Prison Escapee Takes Five Hostage in Gaziantep Hostage Crisis

A prison escapee took five people hostage in the Şahinbey district of Gaziantep, leading to a standoff with law enforcement officials.

The suspect, identified as a fugitive convict, opened fire on police officers during the incident. Reports indicate that the suspect also injured his girlfriend during the crisis.
