[PRNewswire] Saudi Arabia convenes global minerals industry for 4th Future Minerals Forum
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Aug. 29, 2024 /PRNewswire=연합뉴스/ — Under the patronage of His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Saudi Arabia will host the 4th Future Minerals Forum (FMF), the world’s premier platform on minerals, from 14 to 16 January 2025 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Convened by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the FMF is a special government-led platform and inclusive multilateral meeting that brings together the world’s top decision-makers to drive action on the tough challenges of keeping minerals at the top of the global agenda as a key driver of development, global prosperity and the energy transition.
Since 2022, FMF has been driving sustainability initiatives focused on fostering partnerships between mineral producing countries to build trust and create resilient supply chains for the essential minerals the world needs. FMF 2025 will build on this success, focusing on the theme of the fourth edition, “Delivering Impact.”
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef said next year’s FMF will focus on creating and attracting investment opportunities in the mining and minerals sector.
Minister Alkorayev said the FMF has become an important global forum for all stakeholders in the mineral sector, from governments to mining companies, financial institutions, service companies, research institutes and educational institutions such as universities.
The FMF will kick off on 14 January 2025 with a government-led ministerial roundtable, followed by a conference and exhibition (15-16 January) where attendees will have the privilege of learning from experts who will speak on key topics. The conference will include an exhibition of the latest innovations and applications in the minerals sector.
As preparations for FMF 2025 are in full swing, several prominent figures from the mining, minerals and industrial sectors have already been confirmed to speak at the forum. Among them are Newmont Corporation CEO Tom Palmer, Tec Resources President and CEO Jonathan Price, Rio Tinto Chairman Dominic Barton, Vale Base Metals Chairman Mark Cutifani, Ivanhoe Mines Founder and Co-CEO Robert Friedland, Marden CEO Bob Wilt, Trafigura Chairman and CEO Jeremy Weir, Anglo American CEO Duncan Wanblad and many more.
