Prof. Dr. Tareq Juratli will take over as the new director of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Neurosurgery at the University Hospital Würzburg and chair of neurosurgery at Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg, effective Oct. 1. Appointed by university leadership, the 44-year-old surgeon moves to Würzburg from the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital at the Technical University of Dresden, where he served as senior physician, deputy clinic director, and head of the neuro-oncology center at the National Center for Tumor Diseases.

With roughly two decades of experience in the field, Juratli brings extensive operative expertise in treating complex conditions affecting the brain, skull base, and spine. His clinical focal points center on neuro-oncology, complex skull base surgery, and spinal surgery, utilizing microsurgical, endoscopic, and minimally invasive techniques.
