Addis Ababa, Jigjiga, or Nairobi – Conciliation Resources, a leading international peacebuilding association, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Director to spearhead its vital work in the Horn of Africa. The Programme Director will play a pivotal role in guiding Conciliation Resources’ peacebuilding and conflict resolution initiatives across Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia.Reporting to the Africa Department Director, the triumphant candidate will lead a dedicated team of professionals, providing strategic direction and operational oversight.
Driving Peacebuilding Initiatives
The Programme Director will be responsible for the successful implementation of a diverse portfolio of projects, encompassing:
Facilitating dialog processes: Bringing together conflicting parties to build understanding and find common ground.
Addressing past grievances: Supporting communities in confronting historical injustices and promoting reconciliation. Promoting community inclusion: Empowering local communities to actively participate in peace processes.
Conducting research and analysis: Providing insights into the root causes of conflict and identifying effective peacebuilding strategies.

Additional Requirements:
Experience living and working in the Horn of Africa region.
Experience implementing projects in arduous social and political situations or conflict contexts, and experience of hostile environment training or willingness to undertake hostile environment training.
Excellent organizational and coordination skills, including the ability to think and plan strategically while also retaining close attention to detail, to manage and prioritize a diverse and demanding workload, to convene and run efficient meetings and meet deadlines.
Ability to navigate political sensitivities and awareness of the complexity of working in conflict-affected situations, including appreciation of confidentiality and handling sensitive information with due care.
Willingness and ability to work irregular hours on occasions and to undertake frequent international travel in sometimes uncomfortable or insecure conditions.
Excellent word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email software skills.
Desirable Qualifications:

* Knowledge of Somali, Afaan Oromo, and Amharic languages.
