Protecting Homebuyers: Jinju City Takes Action to Prevent Real Estate Transaction Disasters

2024 Jinju City Certified Real ⁣Estate Agent‌ Advisory Committee

Jinju City recently ‍held the ‘2024 Jinju City Certified Real Estate Agent Advisory Committee’ at the city ⁣hall, focusing on‌ fostering the real ‌estate brokerage industry and preventing real estate transaction⁣ accidents.

The committee, formed to promote the growth‌ of the real estate brokerage industry, discussed the current ⁤status of real estate brokerage workers,‌ on-site⁢ crackdown results, and plans for implementing education to ​prevent real estate transaction ​accidents.

As of now,​ Jinju City has a total of‌ 1,251 real estate agents, comprising 780 licensed⁣ real‌ estate agents, 102 affiliated real estate agents, ‍and 369 real estate‍ assistants. This⁤ year, the city reported two cases through on-site inspections and imposed fines of 8 million won on six cases.

The city also⁣ conducted education on preventing real estate transaction accidents, covering major revised laws and practical cases, as well as recent illegal resale of apartment subscription‍ rights in ‍the district, ⁢targeting approximately 300 real ‌estate brokers.

Future plans include holding a⁢ market commendation ceremony for exemplary real⁤ estate agents ‍and sending out letters ⁣to ⁣approximately‌ 800 licensed real estate agents⁣ in the region, emphasizing ethics and responsibility and asking them⁣ to prevent⁣ real estate transaction accidents.

In the ⁢first half of 2025, a personal information verification ⁣system for brokerage workers will be established through the city website to prevent illegal brokerage activities by unqualified persons, ⁤brokerage assistants, etc.

Jinju ‌Mayor Cho‌ Gyu-il‌ emphasized the ‌importance ⁣of capacity-building for real estate agents,​ stating, “In order to realize⁢ the public⁢ interest value of real estate agents, which is to protect citizens’ property, we need a capacity-building plan that⁢ emphasizes the responsibility and trustworthiness ​of real estate agents.” He added, “I ⁤ask ‍that you pool the ‍abilities and wisdom of the advisory committee members to begin the change‍ toward ‌the revival of ⁤the local ‍economy and a dignified third miracle.”
