Infection Control Capacity Building Training for Neonatal Room and Postpartum Care Center Workers
Training Conducted by Ulsan University Hospital’s Public Health and Medical Center
Ulsan University Hospital’s Public Health and Medical Center (Director Ahn Jong-jun) conducted ‘Infection control capacity building training for neonatal room and postpartum care center workers’ at Boram Hall on the 6th floor of the main building of Boram Hospital on the 26th.
This training was conducted with the participation of 30 people from 11 organizations in the Ulsan area with the goal of preventing infection in newborns and mothers and strengthening the infection control capabilities of workers in related organizations.
Training Content and Objectives
Professor Lim Jin-ah of the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescents at Ulsan University Hospital served as an instructor and lectured on the management and prevention of major neonatal infectious diseases such as rotavirus, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome (4S).
In particular, the latest guidelines and cases on infectious diseases that frequently occur in neonatal units and postpartum care centers were shared, and efficient prevention and response measures were discussed in depth to strengthen workers’ infection prevention capabilities.
Feedback and Future Plans
An official from the postpartum care center who participated in the training said, “In a situation where infectious diseases such as RSV have recently become a major threat to newborns, this training was very beneficial as we were able to learn practical ways to prevent infection.”
Director Ahn Jong-jun said, “This training is expected to make an important contribution to increasing the infection control capabilities of neonatal unit and postpartum care center workers and to safely protecting newborns and mothers,” adding, “We will continue to provide practical training to prevent infectious diseases in the community.”
