Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Launches Data-Driven Healthcare Service
Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance has announced the launch of its ’Disease Prevention Campaign,’ a data-based, customer-tailored healthcare service. The campaign, which began on the 25th, aims to provide users with personalized health information and guidance on disease prevention.
The service, available on Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance’s digital healthcare platform, Anyfit Plus, provides users with information on diseases, symptoms, and preventive measures that are prevalent by season. This fall, the platform will focus on tsutsugamushi disease, which is caused by tick bites.
In the winter, the company plans to offer a customized ‘disease prevention guidance service’ for each customer, based on their individual health data, including gender and age. This service will provide users with tailored advice on preventing winter epidemic diseases.
In addition to the prevention campaign, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance has also launched ‘Sugar Fit,’ a diet and exercise habit management service based on blood sugar monitoring. This service aims to provide users with practical health management support.
Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance has been at the forefront of using big data to improve customer health outcomes. In 2019, the company established a big data analysis system that collected customer health information, and has been operating it continuously to this day. The system provides customized information to customers based on big data on health information of 9.09 million customers.
The company also holds a patent for a ‘health information monitoring system based on web crawling (a technique for extracting and collecting information on the Internet)’, which can detect and provide guidance on diseases that are becoming prevalent.
A Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance official stated, “This disease prevention campaign will provide customers with a differentiated experience by providing them with the health information they need in advance.” The official added, “Furthermore, we hope that Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance will establish itself as a new role for customers as a health management expert consultant, rather than simply an insurance company.”
