Celebrations of Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG)‌ Champions League victory turned violent, resulting in over 500 arrests and nearly 200 injuries, ⁤according to the French interior ministry.‍ The champions League final win against Inter milan sparked widespread celebrations across ‌Paris, but also led to clashes with police and numerous fires.

The ministry reported 692 fires, including ​264 involving vehicles. As of ⁢Sunday morning, 559 individuals were arrested in Paris, with 320 taken into police‍ custody. The Paris celebrations included flares, ‍fireworks, and the illumination of the Eiffel Tower in PSG’s⁤ colors.

The match, held in Munich, was widely viewed⁢ in Paris, including at PSG’s Parc des Princes stadium. Despite the 5-0 victory, unrest occurred even during the⁢ game, with clashes between‍ fans and riot police outside the stadium.

Police used water cannons to secure the Place de l’Étoile near the Arc de‌ Triomphe after a large crowd attempted to breach a barrier. Security was heightened with 5,400 officers deployed across Paris.
