PSG Handball Continues Dominant Run, Extends Lead in French League

November 22, 2025 – Paris Saint-Germain Handball solidified its position at the top of the Liqui Moly StarLigue with a decisive 34-31 victory over Montpellier at the Coubertin arena. The win not only continues PSG’s perfect start to the season but also widens the gap between them and their closest rivals.

The match, a key contest between the league’s top two teams, saw Stefan Madsen’s squad deliver a commanding performance. According to reports, PSG quickly established control, building a lead that Montpellier struggled to overcome. The victory extends PSG’s unbeaten streak to 11 consecutive matches.

Ferran Solé led the scoring for PSG with eight goals, marking his best performance of the season and bringing his total goal count for the club to over 500. The team also benefited from a strong showing from Gautier Loredon, who scored all four of his attempts after being introduced in the second half.

Mikkel Lovkvist, PSG’s goalkeeper who joined the team this summer, was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his outstanding performance, recording 12 saves. He currently boasts the highest defense rate in the league, with a 35.19% success rate as of the 11th round of the league.

Despite conceding the first goal, PSG quickly responded with two goals of their own, initiating a period of dominance. They gradually extended their lead to 9-5 before finishing the first half with a 19-14 advantage. Montpellier attempted to close the gap, but PSG maintained a consistent lead of five to seven goals throughout the second half.

The win over Montpellier marks a significant milestone for PSG, who have now established a five-point lead over their opponents in the league standings. Montpellier remains in third place with eight wins, one draw, and two losses (17 points), but the gap between them and the league leaders has widened considerably.

This victory builds on PSG’s recent success, having also secured a win against Dunkerque, which extended their lead over Nantes by two points in the league table. The team’s consistent performance demonstrates their strength and ambition as they continue to compete for the championship title.

Luc Steins also contributed significantly to PSG’s success, consistently proving to be a key player for the team. The team’s overall performance reflects a well-coordinated effort and a strong tactical approach under Coach Madsen.

The French Men’s Handball Liqui Poly Star League continues to be a competitive arena, with Paris Saint-Germain firmly positioned as the team to beat. Their consistent victories and strong individual performances suggest a promising season ahead.
