PSOE Rejects Cerdán’s Role in Public Works Amaño Amid Koldo Case
Updated June 12, 2025
The Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) has refuted allegations that its Secretary of Institution, Santos Cerdán, participated in any “public works amaño” or received commissions related to the ‘Koldo case.’ The party issued a statement late Wednesday, following reports that Civil Guard recordings suggested Cerdán’s potential involvement, according to eldiario.es and other outlets.
The PSOE insists that “Santos Cerdán has not participated, much less influenced” any public works contracts and “has never charged a commission for it.” The party aims to defend Cerdán’s honorability against ongoing accusations related to the Koldo case.
The PSOE also criticized the “filtration” of police actions, calling it an “endemic issue” that generates ”helplessness and media judgments.”
According to reports, the Civil Guard has submitted recordings to the supreme Court that allegedly implicate Cerdán in the corruption plot under investigation by magistrate Leopoldo Puente. These conversations were extracted from mobile devices seized from Koldo García, and were included in a report delivered to the magistrate on June 5.
