Updated june 15, 2025
Britpop icons pulp have returned to the stage, captivating audiences at London’s O2 arena as part of their highly anticipated reunion tour. Thirty years after the height of Britpop, the band, fronted by the charismatic Jarvis Cocker, delivered a performance that blended nostalgia with fresh energy, showcasing tracks from their new album, ‘More,’ alongside beloved classics.
The setlist, spanning nearly 40 years of music, was divided into two acts with an intermission. The show opened with “Spike Island,” a track from ‘More,’ highlighting cocker’s reflections on his role as a performer. The new material was well-received, with “Grown Ups” benefiting from the addition of the Elysian Collective string section.
Cocker acknowledged the band’s recent achievement of their first No. 1 album in 27 years with ‘More,’ a testament to their enduring fanbase. His unique stage presence, a blend of bookish charm and David Byrne-esque movements, kept the audience engaged throughout the night.
The performance of ”This is Hardcore” captured the song’s inherent pomposity, a reflection on the hollowness of fame. A stripped-back, acoustic rendition of “Something Changed” offered a moment of intimacy, while “Common People” ignited the crowd, solidifying it’s status as a modern national anthem.
