Pune Police Bust ‘Drug Party’ in Kharadi Studio Apartment, Seven Arrested

Pune, Maharashtra – In a significant operation, the Pune Police’s Crime Branch has successfully raided a studio apartment in the upscale Kharadi area, apprehending seven individuals in connection with a suspected “drug party.” the raid, conducted in the early hours of Sunday, was a result of a tip-off received by the authorities.
Police Uncover Substance, Paraphernalia
The operation, wich commenced around 3:30 AM, led to the finding of various substances and items commonly associated with drug consumption.According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle, who addressed a press conference in Pune, the police seized approximately 2.7 grams of a cocaine-like substance, 70 grams of a ganja-like substance, a hookah pot with various flavours, and several bottles of liquor and beer.
“It seems a crime has taken place at that location,” the CM was quoted by Years as saying, underscoring the seriousness of the findings.
Seven Individuals Apprehended Under NDPS Act
Following the discovery, seven individuals were arrested on the spot. They have been identified as Pranjal Khewalkar, Nikhil Poptani, Sameer Sayyad, Shripad Yadav, Sachin Bhombe, Isha Singh, and Prachi Sharma. The arrests were made under the relevant sections of the Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
All seven accused have been taken for medical examinations, and their reports are currently awaited by the police.
Political Reactions Emerge
The raid has also drawn reactions from political figures. Eknath Khadse raised questions about a potential political motive behind the police action, suggesting it warrants further investigation. Similarly, Shiv Sena (UBT) deputy leader Sushma Andhare commented that the raid might serve as a message to those who voice dissent against the government.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities working to ascertain the full extent of the activities at the studio apartment.
