Navi Mumbai,NJ – A 45-year-old bhajan singer from Punjab was ⁢brutally⁣ attacked in navi Mumbai on Friday evening,leaving him with severe injuries. Police ⁤have booked over a dozen individuals in connection with the assault.

lakvinder Surjit Singh, a resident of Gurdaspur, was traveling to Mumbai airport from Juinagar when his vehicle was intercepted on Panvel-Sion road in Vashi. According to authorities,⁣ the attackers, armed with⁤ an ⁢iron rod and a sickle, struck Singh repeatedly, inflicting serious⁣ wounds.

“The⁢ accused were⁢ reportedly angered by Singh’s support for the family ⁤of a man killed in 2017,” a Navi⁣ Mumbai police official ⁣revealed. “We are investigating the details of this longstanding enmity. Two suspects, Happy Singh, 35, and Jaspal Singh, 42, have been identified.”

Adding to⁢ the brutality, the attackers also‍ brandished a pistol and a ⁢revolver, threatening ⁤Singh ⁣and an associate before fleeing the scene.

Singh is currently hospitalized, receiving treatment for his injuries. Police have registered a case against the suspects under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, charging them with unlawful assembly, wrongful confinement, assault, and other ⁣offenses.
