A boy was stabbed in the leg with a baiting needle at a school. Merseyside Police were called to St mary’s College in wallasey at around 2.25pm on Friday, january 30, after receiving reports that a pupil had been stabbed in the leg with a baiting needle, commonly used for fishing.
The injured boy was taken to hospital for treatment to a puncture wound and remains in a stable condition.Witnesses reported seeing around seven police cars and an ambulance at the school gates following the incident.

Merseyside Police are appealing for information following a shooting in Kirkby last night, January 30th. A man in his 20s was shot on Northwood, and emergency services were called to the scene at around 10:30 PM.
The victim was taken to hospital with a leg injury, which is not life-threatening. A large police cordon remains in place this morning as forensic examinations continue. Detectives are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident and identify the offender(s).
Detective Superintendent Mark Baker said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the Northwood area of Kirkby last night and may have seen or heard anything suspicious to come forward.Any information, however small, could be vital to our inquiry.”
