Serbian Rescuer Finds forever Home for Abandoned Stray Puppy
Goran Marinkovic, a resident of Kraljevo, Serbia, makes it a daily practice to feed over 100 stray dogs and cats. last March, his routine led him to a revelation: a tiny puppy he couldn’t leave behind. This heartwarming animal rescue story highlights the importance of animal care and finding homes for stray animals.
Marinkovic recounted finding the puppy near some rocks. “Passing a narrow pathway, I heard crying coming from the rocks,” marinkovic said. “She was cold, hungry and thirsty. I had food, so right away I gave her salami.”

The puppy, later named Coco, had been sheltering herself from the elements using an old boot. Marinkovic noticed she was alone, without her mother or any other dogs nearby. The little dogS vulnerability was evident.
“She was exhausted,” Marinkovic said. “She knew that I might be her only chance, so she lay down and surrendered to fate.”

Marinkovic took coco to a veterinarian, unsure if she would survive. Though, Coco proved resilient. As she regained her strength, her personality emerged. “She loves people,” Marinkovic said. “she’s always cheerful.”
After posting Coco’s photos on Facebook, Marinkovic received numerous adoption offers. He carefully selected a home thru fellow rescuers with international adoption connections. Coco, after receiving her vaccinations, traveled to her new home in Germany.

Now, Coco is thriving with her new family. “[Coco] has a beautiful home and she is currently on vacation. I get pictures regularly — they’re at sea right now,” Marinkovic said. “every rescued dog from the street who finds a home is a victory for me.”
