Purbaya Replaces Two Kemenkeu Directors General with Acting Officials – Who Are They?

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed the removal of two director-generals from the Ministry of Finance, effective Tuesday, 21 April 2026, and announced their replacement with acting officials who became active the following afternoon.

The dismissed officials are Febrio Nathan Kacaribu, Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy, and Luky Alfirman, Director General of Budget. Purbaya stated that acting heads have already been assigned to both positions and have been carrying out their duties since Wednesday, 22 April 2026.

“Acting heads have already been assigned. They have been active since yesterday afternoon,” Purbaya said in the Sudirman area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.

For the time being, no new positions will be given to the two dismissed officials. Purbaya said he will assess suitable roles for them based on their competencies at a later stage.

“(Febrio and Luky) will rest for now. Later, I will find the right places for them,” he said.

With the removal of these two officials, there are now three vacant director general positions in the Ministry of Finance. The third vacancy is in the seat of the Director General of Financial Sector Stability and Development, previously held by Masyita Crystallin, who has received a new mandate to serve at PT Danantara Investment Management (Persero).

Purbaya said he will select candidates for the three strategic echelon I positions and report them to President Prabowo Subianto simultaneously. He targets submitting the selected candidate names all at once in early or mid-May 2026.

“They will be submitted to the President all at once. So perhaps simultaneously in early or mid-May,” he said.
