Pusha T Reveals Advice to Ye: Build Streetwear Empire, Not Chase louis Vuitton
Pusha T says he once emailed Ye, urging him to establish his own streetwear brand rather of pursuing a role with Louis Vuitton. The Virginia rapper believes Ye’s failure to heed this advice is a source of his public frustrations.
According to Pusha T, Ye’s social media outbursts reflect his regret over not creating his own “LVMH” by uniting talents like Virgil Abloh, Yeezy, and Just Don under his umbrella. Pusha T,who served as president of G.O.O.D. Music, observed Ye’s fixation on Louis Vuitton while criticizing other designers.
Pusha T recalled suggesting that Ye consolidate the talent around him into a unified brand. He said his advice stemmed from embarrassment over Ye’s eagerness to join Louis Vuitton.
The relationship between the two artists reportedly soured after pusha T criticized Ye’s anti-Semitic remarks. Pusha T also revealed he is no longer signed to G.O.O.D. Music.
“[Ye] goes on his rants. He’s like, ‘Where’s the gang s**t? Where’s all this at?” Push explained. “The one thing that I can say about him is that he knows that every issue that he’s having and crying about online right now, I’ve told him distinctly about those things, distinctly.”
Recently, Clipse released “Ace Trumpets,” a track that includes a line referencing Ye. “Look at them, him and him, still waiting on Yeezy/I hope you got your squeegee,” Pusha T raps. Ye responded on X, formerly Twitter, expressing that he misses his friendship with Pusha.
The pair collaborated on Pusha T and Kanye West’s “Diet Coke” video.
What’s next
Clipse is set to release their new album, Let God Sort em Out. Fans are waiting to see if ye will respond musically to Pusha T’s recent revelations and lyrical jabs, or if he will focus on his own streetwear ventures.
