According to major foreign media outlets on the 7th (local time), Putin congratulated President-elect Trump on his victory in the U.S. presidential election in Sochi, southern Russia, and said, “The restoration of relations with Russia and its help in ending the Ukraine crisis are noteworthy.” Putin said, “ “I am willing to call or contact the president-elect first,” he said, adding, “I will cooperate with a leader whom the American people trust.” He also showed support for the United States, saying, “I hope that our relationship with the United States will be restored.”
Currently, according to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the country with the most land mines in the world is Ukraine, where one quarter of the country is off-limits. The annual gross domestic product (GDP) loss resulting from many lands being classified as landmine risk zones was calculated to be more than $11 billion (about 15 trillion won) per year.
Sonid’s subsidiary Defense Korea has jointly developed a mine removal robot and an explosive detector in cooperation with the Polish state-owned company Ukasiewicz Institute for Industrial Automation (PIAP). The explosive detection and mine removal robot developed by Defense Korea is equipped with the world’s first 99% recoilless explosive disposal equipment and non-contact explosive detection equipment using nano-optical sensor technology. Currently, the products have met the exterior bidding standards of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration of the Ministry of National Defense and have been delivered to a global security equipment company, and are reportedly in export discussions with governments and companies in Poland, France, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and India.
