Putin to Reject Trump-Backed Ukraine Peace Envoy’s Ceasefire Plan, Claims Russian Oligarch
Putin Ally Threatens nuclear Strike if US Continues Ukraine Support
Russian oligarch and close Putin ally Dmitry Malofeyev issued a chilling warning, threatening nuclear retaliation against Ukraine’s supporters if the U.S. continues to back Kyiv.
Malofeyev, speaking in an interview, reacted to former President Donald Trump’s recent nomination of retired General Keith Kellogg as a special envoy for Ukraine peace talks. Kellogg, who previously served as National Security Advisor to Trump, has proposed a plan that would involve freezing the conflict along current front lines, effectively halting Ukraine’s potential NATO membership.”If Kellogg comes to Moscow with this plan, we will take it and throw it in the trash because we don’t like it. that’s the end of the conversation,” Malofeyev declared.
He argued that any peace talks must address “not only the future of Ukraine, but the future of all of Europe and the world.”
Malofeyev went further, outlining a set of demands for Trump to achieve peace, including revoking U.S. authorization for Ukraine to strike Russian territory with American-made long-range weapons, removing Ukrainian President volodymyr Zelensky from power, and engaging in high-level discussions with Putin on global order issues.
Nuclear Threats Escalate Tensions
The oligarch also doubled down on recent nuclear threats from the Kremlin, stating that Russia would unleash nuclear weapons against ukraine’s supporters if the U.S. continues its aid.
“There will be a radiation zone that no one will be able to enter in our lifetime. And the war will be over,” Malofeyev warned. This comes as reports emerge of a potential peace plan being considered by Trump’s team, wich involves freezing the conflict and establishing a demilitarized zone along the current front lines.
Earlier reports suggested Trump’s strategy involved halting aid to ukraine until Kyiv agreed to negotiate with Moscow.Trump himself has previously boasted about his ability to end the war within 24 hours of taking office in 2025.
The escalating rhetoric and threats from Russia underscore the fragility of the situation and the potential for further escalation.
