Bamako, Mali – Egyptian powerhouse Pyramids FC will look to build on their strong start in the CAF Champions League when they face Malian side Joliba Athletic Club on Sunday. kickoff is set for 6:00 PM Cairo time at the March 26 Stadium.
Led by Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurčić, Pyramids cruised to a 5-1 victory over Angola’s Sagrada Esperança in their opening Group D match, putting them atop the standings. Joliba,simultaneously occurring,suffered a 4-0 defeat to Tunisian giants Esperance de Tunis.
Pyramids’ journey to the group stage was impressive. They dominated Zanzibar champions JKU in the preliminary round, winning 6-0 and 3-1, before overcoming Rwandan side AS Kigali with a 1-1 draw away and a decisive 3-1 victory at home.
