The new facility will be the frist in the region to feature digital technology for aircraft painting. It will service commercial, VIP, and military aircraft, featuring two widebody paint facilities and a hangar for light maintenance. This initiative underscores Qatar Airways’ expanding aviation role in the Middle East.
Engr. badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group CEO, said the partnership delivers strategic aviation infrastructure. He added that it serves national and regional ambitions by introducing breakthrough technologies and building local capabilities.
The facility aims to become a regional hub, offering painting services to airline operators across the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. This will reduce aircraft ground time by eliminating the need to transport aircraft overseas for painting.
