Today, the trial session of Ahmed Yasser Al-Mohammadi, a Qatari football player accused of indecent assault on a girl in Qatar, began at Cairo’s Abden Criminal Court. Al-Mohammadi appeared in court wearing a blue mask and a black T-shirt, accompanied by his mother and sisters who were present to offer their support during the hearing.
Al-Mohammadi arrived at the court under heavy security to attend the second session of his trial, which is being presided over by a panel led by Counselor Wael Said Zahran, along with Counselor Gaber Al-Said Al-Jajar, Mahmoud Yahya Rashdan, Abdullah Abdul-Aziz Salam, Omar Muhammad Ashur, and Mustafa Hasan Mustafa.
The Public Prosecution has charged Al-Mohammadi in Case No. 1634 of 2024, Abdin Felony, No. 28 of 2024 North Cairo Felony. The Central Cairo Public Prosecution decided to send Al-Mohammadi to a criminal trial for allegedly assaulting a girl in Qatar.
Investigations revealed that the accused had returned to Egypt after a report was filed against him, and the investigating authorities coordinated with Interpol to arrest him. He was arrested in Sharm el-Sheikh and detained at Abdin police station, where a report was issued.
During the investigation, Al-Mohammadi claimed that he had a consensual relationship with the girl who filed the report against him. He denied the allegations and stated that the girl had given her consent to their interactions. However, the girl alleged that she was assaulted after being lured into her apartment.
