Qatar’s Prime Minister Condemns Israel Amidst Tensions Over Hamas Strike

DOHA, Qatar – In a sharp rebuke, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed ⁢bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has denounced Israel, labeling a recent strike in Doha targeting Hamas leadership‍ as “state terrorism.” The condemnation ⁢came ahead⁤ of a meeting of⁤ Arab and muslim foreign ministers convened to discuss a unified response to⁣ the escalating conflict.

Sheikh ⁤Mohammed, who also serves as ⁢Qatar’s foreign minister, asserted that the Israeli ⁤strike, wich resulted in the deaths of six individuals, including five Hamas members and a Qatari security force⁣ member, undermined the very‍ principle of mediation.⁣ Qatar has been ⁤a key mediator between Israel and Hamas, working ⁢alongside Egypt and the united States to achieve a ceasefire in‍ the devastating Israel-Hamas war.

“This attack can only be described‍ as state terrorism, an approach pursued⁢ by the current extremist Israeli government, which flouts international law,” Sheikh Mohammed ‍stated. He emphasized ⁢that the strike occured while Qatar was hosting official negotiations with the⁤ knowledge⁤ of the Israeli ⁣side, aimed at securing a ‍ceasefire in Gaza.

The prime Minister⁢ called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions, ⁣stating, “It is ⁢time for the international community to stop applying double standards and punish Israel for all the crimes it has ‍committed.”

Arab League Secretary-General ⁤Ahmed Aboul Gheit echoed these sentiments, criticizing Israel and warning that silence in ⁣the face of ⁢such actions would only pave⁤ the way for further transgressions.

Netanyahu Defends Strike,Accuses Hamas⁤ Leaders of Obstructing ceasefire

In response,Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the strike, asserting ‍that Hamas leaders residing in Qatar are indifferent to the suffering of the people in Gaza and are actively blocking ceasefire attempts to prolong the ⁢war. “The⁣ Hamas terrorists chiefs living in Qatar don’t care about the people in Gaza,” ⁤Netanyahu ⁣posted on X. “They blocked all ceasefire attempts ⁢in order to endlessly drag out the ⁢war. Getting rid ⁢of them would rid the main ‍obstacle ‍to releasing⁢ all our hostages and ending the war.”
