Al-Qadisiya Advances to Eighth-Final Round of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup
Al-Qadisiya’s first football team secured a spot in the eighth-final round of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup tournament after a resounding 4-1 victory over Al-Oruba at Prince Muhammad on Sunday.
The match, held at the Bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam, saw the Eastern team take an early lead through Mexican striker Julián Quiñones in the 10th minute. Spanish midfielder Cameron Puertas added a second goal in the 37th minute, followed by Quiñones’ second individual goal and third for his team in the 51st minute.
Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the fourth goal for Al-Qadisiya in the first minute of stoppage time, capping off an impressive performance. Al-Oruba managed to score a consolation goal in the fourth minute of added time through Icelandic midfielder Johan Gudmundsson’s penalty kick.
This win marked a return to form for Al-Qadisiya, who had lost and drawn their last two league matches. In contrast, Al-Oruba suffered their first defeat against Al-Qadisiya after two consecutive wins in their previous encounters in the “Yellow” league for first-class clubs.
