Julian Cash and lloyd Glasspool made history by becoming the first all-British duo to clinch the men’s doubles title at Queen’s Club in the Open era. They secured their victory by defeating Nikola Mektic and Michael Venus in a thrilling match tie-break,with scores of 6-3,6-7 (5-7),10-6.
This win marks Cash and Glasspool’s third ATP Tour title this season and their fourth since partnering last year. The British team dominated the first set, appearing set for a straight-sets victory after breaking in the second. However, Mektic of Croatia and Venus of New Zealand rallied, winning the second set tie-break.
In the decisive match tie-break, Cash and Glasspool gained an early advantage with a mini-break and sealed the championship on their first match point, showcasing their strong teamwork and strategic play in this prestigious doubles tournament.
