Queens of the Stone Age Announce “Alive In The Catacombs” Global Screenings

Queens of the Stone Age (QOTSA) are bringing thier music to the big screen with global cinema screenings of Alive In The Catacombs. The film documents their exclusive, audience-free performance at the Catacombs of Paris.
The screenings,beginning next month,will take place in 20 countries,including the United Kingdom,France,ireland,and the United States. Along with the concert film, attendees will get a sneak peek at an intimate, behind-the-scenes documentary.
Alive In The catacombs offers a fresh perspective on the band, led by Josh Homme, showcasing reimagined versions of tracks from their extensive catalog, tailored for the venue’s unique acoustics.This special live release captures QOTSA in a way fans haven’t seen before.
The Catacombs, a historical ossuary holding the remains of over six million people, has been open to the public since the 19th century and is a popular Paris tourist destination. Queens Of The Stone Age were the first musical act to perform within its walls.
“I’ve been working on it for 18 years, trying to get myself inside of this exalted place in Paris.And it’s completely live,” Homme saeid about performing in the Catacombs.
Homme added that he wanted to offer fans something different than a typical live recording, given the accessibility of live performances online. He emphasized that fans should be able to experience their music however they choose.
In addition to the film premiere, Queens of the Stone Age are scheduled for several performances this summer, including appearances at Sheffield’s Rock N Roll Circus and Victorious Festival in Portsmouth. The band will also embark on a European tour, hitting festivals such as Island, Electric Castle, Lowlands, Pukkelpop, and Rock en Seine.
