QuickLink will debut new WhatsApp and Cisco Webex integrations for its StudioEdge remote contribution platform at IBC 2026, according to recent announcements from the company. The updates, which also feature enhanced support for Microsoft Teams, aim to give broadcasters and production teams more ways to connect with remote guests using applications they already rely on every day.

The software updates will be showcased from September 11 to September 14, 2026, at Stand 7.C19 in Amsterdam, as reported by TVNewsCheck. StudioEdge is built to bring remote guests, experts, and contributors into professional production environments while maintaining broadcast-quality audio and video. The platform currently supports Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and StudioCall, providing discrete audio and video feeds from leading remote communication tools.

Expanding Platform Support at IBC 2026

By adding native support for WhatsApp and Cisco Webex, QuickLink is attempting to lower barriers for contributors who might not use standard professional broadcasting software. According to 4RFV, the new integrations simplify workflows across broadcast, media, and enterprise production environments by letting participants join through familiar consumer and enterprise apps.

“Remote contribution is now a fundamental part of modern production, and flexibility is key to making it work,” said QuickLink CEO Richard Rees, as quoted by TVNewsCheck and 4RFV. “By adding support for WhatsApp and Cisco Webex, alongside enhanced Microsoft Teams integration, StudioEdge gives production teams greater choice in how they connect remote contributors while allowing guests to participate through the platforms they already use.”

In addition to the new platform additions, QuickLink has updated its Microsoft Teams integration to handle more complex scenarios. According to TVNewsCheck, the Microsoft Teams updates include support for multiple callers coming from a single meeting.

The upgraded Teams toolset also introduces join notifications to alert producers when guests enter, active speaker support, screen sharing capabilities, and full compatibility with Microsoft Teams Rooms setups. These additions are engineered to make StudioEdge more scalable and reliable for live or recorded broadcasts, helping organizations adapt to evolving workflow demands.
