There is great surprise in Inishowen as a well-liked restaurant has announced that it is closing its doors.
The Point Inn will be closing fully at the end of September, with its owners citing mounting costs in the hospitality industry as the reason for the pub and restaurant’s closure.
While they will no longer serve food after Sunday the 31st of August, the Point Inn’s bar will remain open until Monday the 30th of September.
In a statement, the Point Inn’s owners said that:
“This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but the mounting economic pressures facing the hospitality industry have made it impossible for us to continue operating in our current form.”
“To our loyal customers, dedicated staff, and the wonderful communities of Quigley’s Point, Muff, Three Trees, Carndonagh, Moville, and beyond – we sincerely thank you. Your support, friendship, and countless shared memories have meant the world to us, and we are proud to have been a part of your lives.”
“We hope you will join us in these final weeks to share one last meal, a drink, and a moment together.”
