Rachel Osborne (Smith) – Funeral Details & Obituary | Celbridge, Kildare

Celbridge Mourns the Sudden Loss of Rachel Osborne

Celbridge, County Kildare, is in mourning following the sudden death of Rachel Osborne (née Smith) on February 12th, 2026. She was 42 years old.

A beloved wife and mother, Ms. Osborne is survived by her husband, Simon, and her children, Kayleigh, Mia, Chloe, and Amelia, as well as her stepdaughter, Alannah. She is also remembered by her parents, James and Brenda Smith, and her siblings, Graham, Karen, Aimee, and Fiona, along with a wide circle of family and friends.

The family has announced that Ms. Osborne will be reposing at her parents’ residence (W23 CF67) on Wednesday, February 18th, from 4pm to 8pm, with prayers commencing at 7pm. A removal service will take place from the residence on Thursday, February 19th, at approximately 10:15am, proceeding to St. Patrick’s Church in Celbridge for an 11am Funeral Mass.

Following the Funeral Mass, a committal service will be held at Newlands Cross Crematorium at approximately 1pm.

The family has requested that those wishing to express their condolences do so through the “condolences” section available online. The Funeral Mass and Committal Service will also be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person. Oliver Reilly Funeral Directors, handling the arrangements, have noted they accept no responsibility for any technical issues with the live webcasts.

In a request shared by the family, attendees are asked to wear smart casual attire. Family flowers only are requested, and the family has requested privacy at the parent’s residence outside of the designated reposing hours.

News of Ms. Osborne’s passing has prompted an outpouring of grief and remembrance from the Celbridge community. Clare, from Snipetts hair salon, described Ms. Osborne as a friend with “the brightest smile and a heart of gold,” adding that she will be deeply missed by their team. Esther, another member of the community, remembered her as a “beautiful lady with a heart of gold.”

Peter Gleeson shared a heartfelt message, stating, “Rachel was a beautiful person inside and out and an absolute devoted mother to her children.” Amanda O’Connor offered her “deepest condolences for the passing of a beautiful person,” while Sheila Barr recalled fond memories of conversations with Ms. Osborne during her time working at Snipetts, describing her as a “lovely girl.”
