Racket Ready: 2024 China Tennis Tour Jianxinxinyuan Tennis Open Serves Up Excitement in Chengdu
2024 China Tennis Tour Jianxinyuan Tennis Open Kicks Off in Chengdu
The 2024 China Tennis Tour Jianxinyuan Tennis Open commenced in Chengdu on October 26, hosted by the Tennis Management Center of the State Sports General Administration and the Chinese Tennis Association.
This CTA500 amateur level event boasts a total prize money of 300,000 yuan and offers 500 championship points. The tournament features five events: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles, attracting 292 players from 25 provinces and cities across the country and overseas.
As a national tennis brand event launched by the China Tennis Association in 2020, the China Tennis Tour plays a vital role in activating and opening up the three fronts of domestic professional tennis, amateur tennis, and youth tennis. This initiative promotes the “internal circulation” of the high-quality development of Chinese tennis.
Guo Yilin, a local athlete representative from Chengdu and a coach, believes that the China Tennis Tour provides tennis players with more opportunities to showcase their skills. “The registration for this competition is extremely popular, and it’s challenging to secure a spot. This trend indicates that tennis is gaining immense popularity in China.”
Chengdu has witnessed rapid growth in tennis development in recent years, with the city hosting a series of international events such as the ATP250 Chengdu Tennis Open, the ITF World Junior Tour (J60), and the ITF World Tour Youth Year-end Finals. These events enable citizens to watch high-level tennis tournaments “at their doorstep.”
