Men’s Singles Semi-Finals Lineup

Chinese player Lei Lanxi has advanced to the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Badminton Open after defeating Hong Kong’s Li Zhuoyu 2:1 in the quarter-finals.

Lei Lanxi, ranked 33rd in the world, lost the first game 16:21 but made a comeback by winning two consecutive games 21:15 and 21:14. He will face Indonesian star Jonatan in the semi-finals, who defeated Japan’s No. 5 seed Kodai Naraoka 2:1.

The other men’s singles semi-final will be between two-time Olympic champion Axelsen of Denmark and Ginting of Indonesia. Axelsen defeated Chou Tien-cheng of the Chinese Taipei team, and Ginting eliminated Wu Yinglun of the Hong Kong Chinese team.

Women’s Singles Semi-Finals Lineup

No. 3 seed Han Yue also fought back from a losing position to defeat Aya Ohhori of Japan 17:21, 21:9, 21:15. Han Yue will compete with Thailand’s Li Meimei for the final ticket.

Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles Update

In the men’s doubles competition, the Chinese badminton team Huang Di/Zhou Haodong lost 0:2 to the Chinese Taipei team Wang Qilin/Qiu Xiangyan. This means all the men’s teams of the Chinese team have been eliminated.

The doubles pair of the Chinese team had 1 win and 1 loss on the day. Liu Shengshu/Tan Ning defeated the South Korean combination Zheng Nayin/Kim Hye Jung, while Li Wenmei/Jang Shuxian lost to another South Korean combination. Kim So Young/Kong Hee Yong.
