Radeon RX 9000 Series Prices Rise: 8GB Cards Increase by $10
memory and Graphics Card Price Increases Expected
the memory market is experiencing significant price increases for both DRAM and NAND Flash, and TeamGroup’s director anticipates this trend will continue into the first and second quarters of next year. This escalating cost of components will inevitably translate to higher prices for products utilizing them.
AMD GPU Price Hikes
The price increases aren’t limited to memory; the video card market is also bracing for adjustments. AMD is already implementing price increases for its Radeon RX 9000 series graphics cards, impacting shipments to AIB (Add-in Board) partners.
According to a source at Tom’s Hardware, AMD is increasing the price of GPU kits – consisting of the GPU and matching memory chips – by $10 for every 8 GB of VRAM. This translates to a $20 surcharge for a 16 GB model.
| Radeon RX Model | Original List Price (USD) | Estimated new price (USD) – Based on Kit Increase |
|---|---|---|
| Radeon RX 9070 XT | $619 | $639 |
| Radeon RX 9070 | $569 | $589 |
| 16 GB Radeon RX 9060 XT | $369 | $389 |
| 8 GB Radeon RX 9060 XT | $309 | $329 |
While the initial price increase affects only shipments to AIB partners, market prices are expected to rise accordingly. AIB partners may even choose to increase prices further to maintain profitability.
Resellers are currently attempting to maintain competitive pricing during the pre-Christmas shopping season, but this is unsustainable.Stock purchased at lower prices will likely be depleted soon.
Further Increases Anticipated
An unnamed industry source indicates that AMD plans to implement another price increase in January. The extent of this additional increase remains unknown, but further clarification is expected shortly.
