New Delhi: India’s diplomatic strategy in the wake of the devastating Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives, was primarily centered on the United Nations Security Council, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated in the Lok Sabha. He also firmly refuted claims by US President Donald Trump regarding brokering a ceasefire between India and pakistan, emphasizing that no phone calls occurred between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Trump between April 22 and June 17.
No World Leader Demanded Halt to Military Action, Says PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Lok Sabha, clarifying that no global leader had requested India to cease its military operations against Pakistan during ‘Operation Sindoor’. This operation was launched in May following a four-day conflict that ensued after the Pahalgam terror attack.
In his complete address, which spanned approximately 100 minutes, Prime Minister Modi expressed his disappointment that while the nation garnered widespread international support, the Congress and its allies failed to stand in solidarity with the valor of India’s soldiers.
Operation Sindoor: Precision Strikes Against Terror Infrastructure
The April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the tragic loss of 26 civilian lives. In response, India initiated precision strikes under ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting terrorist infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Terrorists Behind Pahalgam Attack Neutralized in Operation Mahadev
Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed to the Lok Sabha that security forces had successfully eliminated three terrorists involved in the killing of civilians during ‘Operation Mahadev’.
“In a joint Operation Mahadev, the Indian Army, CRPF, and J&K Police have neutralized three terrorists who were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack,” Shah announced, addressing the lower house. He further assured that those responsible for the heinous Pahalgam terror attack have been brought to justice.
