Expanding Rail Network to Serve Northern Israel
Plans are advancing to include Ramat David Airbase as a stop on Israel’s growing rail network. This progress, confirmed by recent reports, will significantly improve accessibility to the airbase and surrounding areas.
Current Rail Connections in Israel
Currently, israel Railways provides train service from Ben Gurion Airport to Tel Aviv’s Savidor Central Station, with intermediate stops at HaShalom and HaHagana. The travel time between the airport and tel Aviv is approximately 15-20 minutes. the rail network also extends to haifa and other northern locations, as well as southeast to Modi’in and Jerusalem.
The Red Line of the NTA light rail system connects five municipalities: Petah Tikvah, Bnei Brak, Ramat Gan, tel Aviv – Jaffa, and Bat Yam, with 34 stations, 10 of which are underground.
