Ramin Karimloo and Hadley Fraser Star in London Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Concerts November 24
Rupert Hands directs the 2005 Broadway musical.
A concert version of the 2005 Broadway musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will be performed at the London Palladium on November 24. This event celebrates 20 years since the musical first premiered at San Diego’s Old Globe.
Ramin Karimloo will play Freddy Benson, a clever underdog. Hadley Fraser will take on the role of Laurence Jamieson, a smooth con artist. They will compete to charm an heiress out of $50,000.
The cast includes Carly Mercedes Dyer as Christine Colgate, Janie Dee as Muriel Eubanks, Cameron Blakely as Inspector Andre, and Alex Young as Jolene Oaks. A live orchestra and the Mountainview Choir will accompany the performances.
The musical, based on the 1988 movie, features music by David Yazbek and a book by Jeffrey Lane. The 2005 Broadway version was nominated for 11 Tony Awards, with Norbert Leo Butz winning for Best Actor in a Musical.
