“I think it was more education like the one I received—a very medium class family where money dictated whether or not I got an additional pair of shoes that year.”

According to Melinda Gates, this “middle class” education involved several key components:

• Household Chores: Despite having household staff, the children participated in chores, ‍including cleaning.

Jennifer Gates’ passion for horseback riding, which began at age 6, was fostered through significant investments.
