Andre ‘Rude Boy’ Brown Eyes UFC Ranking, Questions His Role
Updated July 3, 2025
Andre “Rude Boy” Brown is questioning his role in the UFC welterweight division. Despite an 8-2 record in the last five years, Brown remains unranked. He believes his performances warrant a spot in the Top 15.
Brown lost a split decision to Bryan Battle in December. Battle, a former Ultimate Fighter winner, missed weight for the fight. Brown felt he should have won. He notes that the only welterweight to defeat him in recent years now holds the division’s top spot.
The Jamaican fighter is currently sidelined with a broken hand. He suffered the injury during his bout with Dalby.
“First round – when I broke his nose and I started talking s***, I hit him again and my hand broke,” Brown explained. “Instant karma, promptly.”
Brown expressed frustration at not being ranked despite strong performances. He felt he deserved a ranking after defeating Muslim Salikhov last year and extending his winning streak.
“I thought I was gonna be ranked after this last one,” Brown said. “Even Laura Sanko, everyone on the broadcast was like, ‘This guy has got to be ranked,’ but I’m still not ranked.”
What’s next
Brown aims to recover from his injury and continue his pursuit of a top 15 ranking in the UFC welterweight division. He hopes to prove his role as a contender.
