Martin hopes to improve upon the previous Champions League qualifying defeat by dynamo Kyiv, wich relegated Philippe Clement’s squad to the Europa League.
Rangers, along with Hibs and United, must navigate three qualifying stages to reach the Champions League group stage. As a seeded team, Rangers will begin their European campaign against a team that, like them, finished as runners-up in their domestic league. The potential opponents are Panathinaikos, Servette, and Brann.
Panathinaikos, ranked 111th in European club rankings, presents the stiffest challenge.Servette is ranked 139th, and Brann is 189th. The Athens-based club has a strong record against Scottish teams,never losing in regulation time across seven matches against Rangers,Motherwell,and aberdeen,winning four.
