Rape Attempt Turns Deadly: Chhatra League Leader Faces Demands for Hanging After Aunt’s Brutal Murder

In Begumganj upazila Noakhali, an allegation has been made against Imran Khan Akash (26), the leader of the banned organization Chhatra League, who stabbed his aunt to death in a failed rape attempt. In this incident, the local people protested and chained a human to demand his hanging.

This program was held on Sunday (November 3) at noon in Kutubpur Union of the upazila under the initiative of the youth. They demanded the arrest and punishment of the accused Imran Khan.

Earlier, the incident took place in Qutubpur Union on Wednesday night (October 30). The woman died while being treated in a hospital in Dhaka on Saturday night (November 2).

Accused Imran Khan is the son of Jahangir Alam Manik from the same union. He is in charge of the vice-president of the 7th Ward Committee of the Qutubpur Union of the banned organization Chhatra League.

It is known that the woman (46), mother of three daughters, is Imran Khan’s aunt. Her husband died eight months ago. Accused Imran along with his accomplices tried to rape her on Wednesday night. If that was not the case, he stabbed the woman in different parts of her body. He was sent to Dhaka for treatment in a coma. He died while being treated there.

Qutubpur Union Parishad (UP) panel chairman Imam Uddin, former chairman Momin Ullah, social worker Jahangir Alam Hiran, local people and three daughters of the deceased and students of various educational institutions were present in the human chain.

Former Chairman Momin Ullah said, ‘Chatra League terrorist Imran Khan Akash should be arrested and hanged for killing the unmarried woman. Otherwise that woman’s soul will not find peace.’

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Begumganj Model Police Station Liton Dewan told Bangla Tribune, ‘The victim’s daughter filed a case at the police station as a plaintiff. An operation is underway to arrest the accused.
