Rapido Driver Suspended: Bengaluru Captain App Concerns Viral
Rapido Driver Alleges Account Block After Raising Rider Concerns
A Rapido driver in Bangalore claims his account was blocked shortly after he voiced concerns about rider payouts on X (formerly Twitter). The driver, posting on the subreddit r/bangalore,alleges that Rapido restricted his access too the Captain app – the platform used by drivers – rather of addressing his issues.
The driver’s primary complaint centers on underpayment when taking alternative routes. He states that fares do not update in real-time, meaning drivers are only compensated for the default, shortest path, even if thay travel a longer distance due to traffic or rider requests.
As an example, the driver cited a situation where his location indicated a 1.80x surge pricing multiplier, yet his payout was only Rs 82. He also highlighted issues with route updates and cautioned that suspending drivers “won’t solve anything - it only hurts the platform and customers.”
Community Reaction
The driver’s post sparked discussion on r/bangalore. some users suggested Rapido might cite a violation of an employee code of conduct, noting a perceived lack of tolerance for public criticism.one commenter pointed to Rapido’s reliance on its own mapping system instead of Google Maps as a contributing factor to the problem.
Though, not all responses were supportive. One user argued that paying for actual distance traveled coudl lead to drivers intentionally taking longer routes to increase their earnings.
Rapido’s Response
As of September 23, 2025, Rapido has not issued a public response to the driver’s allegations.
