Rapper Lil Nas X may have battery charges dismissed provided he continues a course of treatment, according to reports regarding the legal proceedings stemming from an incident in Los Angeles in 2025.
The legal developments follow an encounter on August 21, 2025, when police responded to reports of a naked man walking along Ventura Boulevard in the Studio City neighborhood of Los Angeles shortly before 6 a.m.
Los Angeles police reported that the artist, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, charged at officers upon their arrival. A law enforcement source stated that Hill punched an officer in the face twice during the encounter.
Following the altercation, officers took Hill to a hospital due to a suspected drug overdose before he was booked into the Valley Jail in Van Nuys. Video obtained by TMZ showed the artist on the street wearing only boots and underwear, while other footage showed him naked, and barefoot.
Felony Charges and Court Proceedings
On August 25, 2025, prosecutors filed four felony charges against Hill in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. These charges included three counts of battery on a police officer and one count of resisting arrest.

Hill pleaded not guilty to the charges during his court appearance on August 25, 2025. He was subsequently released on a conditional bail set at $75,000.
During the proceedings, defense attorney Christine O’Connor argued that Hill did not present a flight risk, citing his lack of prior criminal history and strong ties to the community.
O’Connor further stated that there had been no evidence that any drugs were involved
in the incident, though she noted that test results may have been pending at the time of the hearing.
